DIGATEX awarded ISO/IEC27001 and ISO/IEC20000-1 accreditationfor Information Security, Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection
DIGATEX and James Fisher Asset Information Services (AIS) are collaborating to help asset intensive industries speed up their digital transformation programs, improve safety and efficiency whilst simultaneously driving down cost.
There has never been more intense pressure to lower running costs of industrial assets to remain competitive. It is the key business challenge that dominates the board room, and it is here that the latest technological advancements in AI and cloud computing can be the ‘game changer.’
Complex industrial assets such as oil and gas plants have many millions of technical data sets holding critical information needed to safely maintain and operate their facilities. However, this data is locked away in dumb drawings, filed away in different systems, across multiple sources. Engineering and operational teams can spend up to 80% of their time searching for critical information and spare parts resulting in extensive delays, errors and lost productivity cumulating in millions of dollars of lost profit.
The use of machine learning (ML) and IOT devices to monitor and track the behaviour of equipment provides early warning of potential failure of the complex array of components that make up an industrial asset. However, making timely and correct decisions based on the predictions requires instant access to technical data that defines the asset in a visual context.
Contemporary events, including the Covid-19 pandemic and concurrent drop in the oil price compound the landscape. There is now a new remote working dynamic, in which dispersed teams and contractors need ready access to critical asset information and be able to visualise the asset virtually.
All the above drive the Digital Twin agenda. However, until now it has been too time consuming and too costly to effectively capture and digitise 3D and 2D technical data, meaning operators have made do and deferred improving their data. This is no longer an option! Digital Twins will become ubiquitous in how assets are managed, just as the Cloud has for consumption of IT services.
DIGATEX and AIS combine artificial intelligence (AI) transforming 2D technical data and world leading photogrammetric digital twin technology. Real world visualisation is captured with wearable camera technology and drones, seamlessly combined with 3D models and 2D object data and then linked to real time data creating a complete digital replica of the physical asset and making it instantly accessible anywhere on the planet. This approach is intuitive, simple and with light touch technology that is completely data driven. It is all about the data first and technology second.
Customers have seen the cost and schedule to capture both 2D and 3D data dramatically reduced by factors of 10 times. Accessing and using the data has also seen productivity gains of an order of magnitude. Remote working is enabled and physical on-site presence reduced, improving safety and cutting logistics costs and carbon footprints.
Sean Huff, JF AIS Managing Director, said “The R2S technology was one of the first photogrammetric digital twins to come onto the market, and it remains the industry leader, deployed with over 20 IOC’s and NOC’s around the world. Our partnership with DIGATEX allows these and future R2S users to accelerate their digital transformation, using AI as the power to transform their operations and data management, unlocking significant time savings, cost efficiencies, and freeing skilled individuals to utilise their domain expertise and not focus on administrative or repetitive tasks.”
Derek Middlemas, DIGATEX Chief Executive, “What makes this partnership unique is not simply the blend of domain skills and technologies both companies bring to the table, but our aligned business ethos. We both have disruptive technologies and processes that break through transformation cost and schedule barriers, at the same time yielding better more usable data. Clients just want rapid access to accurate technical data in a visual digital twin from anywhere in the world on any device.”
The combination of talent and technology expands the combined geographic reach of the two businesses – allowing direct access to clients from Australia, South East Asia, Middle East, UK, Europe, Norway, US Gulf of Mexico, Mexican Gulf, and Brazil.
