Malaysian Oil & Gas Engineering Council (MOGEC)– Kuala Lumpur– Seminar
DIGATEX were honoured to be invited to speak at last week’s MOGEC (Malaysian Oil & Gas Engineering Council) Seminar in Kuala Lumpur, sponsored by MECIP. Richard Beck addressed ‘Using Artificial Intelligence to enable fast access to engineering data’. DIGATEX are at the forefront of this industry trend and Richard shared several recent case studies to demonstrate DIGATEX’s AI and ML services in action and the business benefits being achieved.
AI for engineering data management is certainly a hot topic and we believe it will remain so for the foreseeable future as we now move from the Innovators and Early Adopters into the Early Majority phase.
The seminar was extremely well attended including representatives from PETRONAS, Dialog Asia, East One-Zero One, Gas Malaysia Berhad, MMC Oil & Gas Engineering, OCN Global, Petro Horizon, Winmore Engineering, Cekap Technical Services, TechnipFMC, RNZ, Emerson Process Management, Axceligent Solutions, Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC), Aker Solutions, Innovative Fluid Process, Seriemech Consultancy, The Institution Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), Dagang NeXchange , Nexus Venture, Fluor Daniel International, GQS, & D&B Technology Engineering PLT.
A big thank you to our host, Khasmah, and to everyone who attended on the day. We look forward to continuing the AI conversation with MOGEC and all its members.
MOGEC has become an effective platform to encourage the advancement of the oil and gas engineering profession with a membership of 33 ordinary members providing engineering and specialist services to the oil, gas and petrochemical industries and 39 associate members. Malaysia is now recognised as a regional centre for design engineering services.
In year 2013, the members agreed to expand the scope of MOGEC to cover all aspects of engineering services in the upstream and downstream oil & gas and petrochemical industries including EPCIC/EPCC contracting. Thus the association was renamed to be the Malaysian Oil & Gas Engineering Council.
MOGEC’s objectives are to provide a forum for discussion on issues of common interest, promote co-operation among members, promote local resources in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries and collaborate with local research centres and institutions to stimulate skills development and graduate engineers in Malaysia.
DIGATEX and our Malaysian engineering partner, MECIP, were very pleased to be in Kuala Lumpur recently, working with PETRONAS on applying Artificial Intelligence to deliver significant improvements in operational readiness. PETRONAS are at the forefront of embracing digital transformation to provide immediate business value and we look forward to continued collaboration in this exciting field.
Artificial Intelligence & Digitalization Day Enabling 4.0 , ADNOC Sour Gas, Abu Dhabi
It has been broadly recognised that the Oil & Gas Industry has lagged somewhat behind other sectors in recent years when it comes to digitalization, something ADNOC are now working hard to address across their enterprise.
ADNOC’s integrated 2030 strategy is to transform the way value is maximised from every barrel of oil and help meet the world’s growing demand for energy. As part of this strategy ADNOC Sour Gas is exploring innovative methods across the entire value chain to improve operational performance in its upstream and downstream assets to gain competitive advantage in the future and deliver a more sustainable and economic gas supply.
A key component of this strategy is to work collaboratively with partners to foster better knowledge sharing and enable the co-development of cutting edge intellectual property and technology. Today’s event for ADNOC Sour Gas employees and invited guests from other Opco’s was a practical example of how ADNOC is actively pursuing this goal.
Mr Fahad Al Wahedi, Acting Vice President of Technical & Engineering Services delivered the opening address and DIGATEX were honoured to contribute to the day alongside Siemens, Wood, IBM, Emerson and Landmark Haliburton.
Robert Frow, shared some practical examples of how DIGATEX has been using its AI platform (DI-analytics) to help similar companies in the Resources Sector transform legacy data and documents, resolving engineering data business problems that, in many instances, have created a barrier to faster adoption of Digitalization.
RISE Accelerator Program Graduation & Awards – Perth, Western Australia
On Friday, 7th June 2019 Richard Beck, Co-Founder of DIGATEX, attended the graduation ceremony in Perth, WA, for the RISE Accelerator Program. This 3-month intensive program for young and innovative companies is sponsored and run by KPMG, METS Ignited, NERA, Queensland Government and the Government of Western Australia and supported by AUSTMINE and APPEA. Over the last 12 weeks DIGATEX has been challenged on its value proposition, business model and go-to-market strategy by peer companies, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and subject matter experts. It has been a tremendous exercise helping us to hone our business plan and we are delighted to have won the award for best Customer Pitch for Energy and Resources Sector. A very big thank you to all the sponsors and supporters from the Management Team at DIGATEX.
The Middle East SOUR Plant Operations Network (MESPON) Forum is an interactive conference aimed at fostering enduring, cooperative relationships between sour gas and sulphur plant operators across the UAE and the Middle East.
The forum attracts over 400 delegates from across the region and beyond and is designed for sharing, learning, brainstorming and collaborating amongst peers and industry experts for the purpose of achieving world-class management of sour gas and sulphur facilities.
At this year’s conference DIGATEX were invited to discuss the use of artificial intelligence to overcome data and document anarchy to support better and safer day to day operations. To learn more or request a copy of this presentation please contact Robert.email@example.com
Is Digital Asset Management Needed? In this month’s issue of Oil & Gas Middle East magazine our CEO, Derek Middlemas, answers this question. Download this exclusive article
For the second installment of “60 Seconds with…” series IQPC caught up with Derek Middlemas, Chief Executive Officer at DIGATEX. Derek is championing the concept of ‘digital twin’ – that is creating a digital asset for every physical asset – a replica in every way that supports decision making across the asset lifecycle.
