UK Oil & Gas Inventory Supply Chain - Virtual Roundtable, hosted by DIGATEX

Wednesday, 30th June 10am GMT

If all supply chain optimisation levers have already been pulled, then why do we still have billions of pounds of inventory sitting idle in oil and gas (OG) warehouses all over the UK?

The OG inbound supply chain is synonymous with large warehouses full of slow-moving inventory.  Often this inventory lies untouched for years.  It’s a fact that 80% of most OG inventory moves less than once every four years.  That’s an inventory turnover of less than 0.25.  In the UK alone, billions of pounds of slow-moving inventory sits idle, gathering dust, losing value, waiting to be issued against a maintenance work order.  Eventually, at the end of the asset’s life, this inventory will be gathered en masse and scrapped or sold at a fraction of the original purchase price.

Multiply this across scores of operators with crammed warehouses located within kilometers of each other and you will soon see the massive opportunity for supply chain change.

Enter Wayne Hutchinson.  Wayne has a varied and distinguished career at the highest levels of the OG industry working for both operator and supplier.  His involvement with Shell started in May 2003 with Shell Global Solutions leading the development of its external business with other oil and gas operators in the fields of technology, consulting and technical services.

Now, CEO of Wayne Enterprises BVBA, Wayne joins us to share his experiences and to paint a bright picture of the future for the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) supply chain.  This picture brings to life a new way of looking at the OG supply chain with tradition replaced with innovation and millions of tonnes of carbon replaced with cash.
